New Job!

September 13, 2006

The universe has been kind to me. I have been blessed in so many aspects of my life and I do not give enough praise and thanks to God for that. For the past two years, one of those blessings has been working at Augeo Affinity Marketing. The people I have worked with and the skills and experience I have gained are invaluable. And yet I it is time for me to move on. Thus on October 2, on what would have been my second anniversary at Augeo, I will begin the next phase of my career as a Senior Programmer at Personix.

Bahá’u’lláh, founder of the Bahá’í Faith, said “The best of men are they that earn a livelihood by their calling and spend upon themselves and upon their kindred for the love of God, the Lord of all worlds.” I take this injunction to heart, and yet I know that my profession itself is a means to life, not the end of it.

I am blessed to be a member in and to serve the Bahá’í community of Saint Paul. I am blessed to play a meaningful role with the non-profit United Religions Initiative. And most of all I am blessed in my marriage and family. But something must give; I am stretched too thin and unable to give the time and energy I want to my family and my avocations. To my surprise, I have found an opportunity outside of Augeo that will help me better align my life with those priorities of family, faith, and service.

One consequence is that my mobile number has changed (I’ve been using a company phone for almost two years). If you know me, drop me an e-mail or type in a comment below to have me send you my new cell phone number.
