The Balance of Government

January 26, 1994

Government is an extension of people's greed, manifested in the form of power. It is also inherent in that humans tend to have a need for organization.

Knowledge has corrupted the human, as knowedge of the apple corrupted Adam. Without it, we would reside in harmony with each other, living a delicate balance between life and death, but free as the birds. This is Rousseau's "state of nature." but knowledge cannot be taken back. Knowledge is a stem of man't natural curiosity, which led to the development of science. They say curiosity killed the cat, maybe future life forms will say curiosity killed the humans. The only way to keep this eventuality from occuring is through positive knowledg. We must fight fire with fire, knowledge with knowledge.

In order for a government to survive, there must be a balance between it and her country, a balance of liberty vs. "repression" and "oppression." Everything in nature has a certain balance, that can be upset, and government is a part of nature. But when is the suppresion of liberty justified?
