Live the Overman

1996?

This reflection followed on the piece "Know Thyself" and "The unexamined life is not worth living"

What is this thing we call existence? How can we dare to call our "existence" life? How many truly live? Slaves to life, slaves to conformity, slaves to mankind. We are forever stuck in a circle, circle of what we call humanity. A dull existence full of hypocrisy is what we all lead, reaching for ideals implanted into us by the unoriginal thinkings of another. It is rare that a man such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. comes around and disturbs the traditional order. Even the thinkers don't think, for they are trained and biased from the beginnings. Pathetic, apathetic world void of inspiration and individualism. What do they do to us when we do think? They denounce us and suppress us, terrorizing and killing. These people should be hailed, not the pitiful excuses for mankind that attempt to carry on the past into the future, a future that is ours. We cannot escape that past, a past that is always present. We must carry on the legacy of apathy to the further generation, a legacy of uncaring and unwillingness to act. I for one will do my best to stop this insidious rampage of our sensibilities, though I stand alone, unsupported. We must stand up, stand tall, and let intelligence and wisdom rule over ignorance and folly.
